CONFEPAR celebrates 88 years of history and the struggle of port checkers

Founded on May 28, 1938, CONFEPAR marks 88 years of history, resilience, and commitment to the cargo loading and unloading checkers of the Port of Paranaguá.
Founded on May 28, 1938, in the auditorium of the Stevedores' Union in Paranaguá, CONFEPAR was born from the union of cargo loading and unloading checkers around a common goal: defending their rights and valuing port work. Under the leadership of its first president, Olympio Toccheton, the organization took the first steps of a journey that now spans nearly nine decades.
Over these 88 years, the profession has continued to ensure efficiency, safety, and responsibility in the operations of the Port of Paranaguá. The checker is the professional who verifies and records every stage of cargo handling — a role essential to the trust placed in port work and to the smooth running of one of the country's leading ports.
The anniversary was marked by recognition from the Central of Workers of Brazil (CTB), which congratulated CONFEPAR on 88 years of struggle and organization of port checkers. As it celebrates another year, the organization reaffirms the pride of its history and renews its commitment to unity, training, and the continuous appreciation of its members.
